Norwich United are delighted to announce the signing off Kehan Whitby.

The young striker started his football journey playing for Walsham Le Willows U18s when he was just 15 years-old. A string of excellent performances soon saw First Team manager Paul Smith take an interest in the Suffolk born forward, including him in the First Team and giving him his first taste of senior football. The following season Kehan captained the side U18s as they won the league and reached two cup finals.

At the end of the 2018-19 season, Kehan joined Jon Abbot’s Diss Town and from there first met current Planters manager Steve Eastaugh.

When asked why he brought Kehan to the Club, Manager Steve Eastaugh was very clear.

"Kehan has all the qualities we look for in a player and the best thing is we believe he will get better. He has seamlessly fitted into the group and taken on lots of information in a very short space of time. He’s has a desire to learn and improve which gives him every chance of being successful."

When the new Planter was asked about what he sees his strengths as, he was quite clear.
“My main strengths as a footballer is my work rate, speed and physical strength. I’ve always been a player that can play in any position when needed which has helped me a lot learning different parts of the game. I’ll always give me 100% on the pitch, there's no doubt in that, even when I’m having an off day I’ll still give my everything.”

On the decision to move to Plantation Park, the 19 year-old striker couldn't be happier.“I’m really happy with the move to come over and be a Planter, it’s a club with a lot of high quality players that are all determined to achieve the best they can and I’m looking forward to learning whilst playing with them.”“I’ve come to Norwich United because I want to play at the highest standard of football that I possibly can, and obviously making that step up from the league below to come here was a no-brainer for me. I also want to win something or at least challenge for some silverware and at my previous senior clubs I haven’t really had that fight yet so I’m ready for it.”

“The main thing that persuaded me to come over was the manager Steve (Eastaugh), during the short spell that he was at Diss I learned a lot and enjoyed my time working with him, so too be asked to come up here and play for him again was an easy decision for me.”

Everyone at Norwich United would like to thank Diss Town FC ,particularly Pam Flatman and their manager, for making this transfer easy for all parties.
