On Saturday we welcome Ely City to Plantation Park in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division. We look forwarto to welcoming The Robins players, officials and supporters.
We would also like to welcome this afternoon’s match officials and ask that you respect them both on and off the pitch.
Since our last home game a hard fought 1-1 draw with Whitton United we have played three games away from home. At Mildenhall Town in the League Cup we came from behind to win 4-1 and earn a home semi-final against Stanway Rovers on Tuesday, March 17. Last Saturday saw us win a tight encounter with Kirkley & Pakefield with Harry Barker scoring the only goal of the game. Tuesday saw a remarkable turn around at Stanway, trailing 3-0 at the break and having missed a penalty, Sam Watts immediately reduced the arrears after the break, Liam Jackson then scored two penalties before scoring his hat trick goal in the 89th minute only for the hosts to grab an injury time equaliser from yet another penalty.
Ely currently sit in 18th position but come to Plantation Park on the back of a very important 4-1 victory at home to Gorleston in their last game a fortnight ago. That followed a 1-0 win at Thetford Town which ended a twelve match game without a victory. When the two clubs met at The Demcom Stadium in September the points were shared in a 1-1 draw, Ben Fowkes netting for the Planters.
We are back at Plantation Park on Tuesday when Woodbridge Town are the visitors, kick-off 7.45pm. We then have three away games at Mildenhall (next Saturday, 3pm), Stowmarket Town (Tuesday, March 3, 7.45pm) and Hadleigh United (Saturday, March 14, 3pm) before we host Stanway Rovers on Tuesday, March 17 in the Thurlow Nunn League Challenge Cup semi-final, kick-off 7.45pm.
Our U21s are at home next Saturday when Watton United are the visitors, kick-off at 2pm. The U18s are ta home on Thursday evening when Waveney are the visitors, kick-off 7.45pm.
We hope to see you at Plantation Park soon. Enjoy the game!
