STATEMENT OF INTENT
NCFC recognises that in our society groups and individuals have been and continue to be discriminated against, this normally means receiving less favourable treatment than another on the grounds of their race, colour, ethnic origin, gender, nationality, age, disability, sexual orientation, political or religious beliefs and marital status.
NCFC is an equal opportunities employer and service provider, and the aim of this policy is to ensure that no Committee member, employee, volunteers, service user, or any other persons involved with the work of the Club are treated in an un-constitutional manner and which also is is in direct conflict with our aims and objectives. By this we mean promoting practices contrary to our 'Constitution' as well as our 'aims and objectives' and which would in-turn lead to double standards in what we believe in and ultimately stand for.
Women & Girls are under represented at all levels of football and sport in general and it is our intention to encourage and promote girls and women in the participation of the sport in all forms and at all levels. By definition, we are committed to taking positive action to redress discrimination, and therefore commit ourselves to establishing, implementing and developing an evolving "Equal Opportunities Policy' in order to stimulate equality of opportunity for groups and individuals discriminated against on the basis already stated.
The Club believes that there is no evidence to suggest that passive policies will succeed in promoting equality of opportunity and that a pro-active approach must be adopted, we also know that discrimination will not disappear of its own accord. The management of the club also believe that institutionalised racism which is a vehicle for passive discrimination also plays a major part in society and is evident in our every day lives.
The management also believe in the promotion of and the co-operation between people of all races, cultures, religions, sex's and beliefs. To this end, we will endeavour to execute our Equal Opportunities Policy through our multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-sexual mode of practice at all times. We accept that to achieve this, we need to implement a strict County wide strategy between all other agencies we work with in order to achieve a certain level of professionalism, consistency, and acceptance by the majority.
