Worksop came, saw, and went home with tails between their legs

Nottinghamians v Worksop RFC

League Encounter

post match interview with the skipper.

" I was knackered at the end of that , we had the chances to be clear but mistakes and a sin binning meant worksop always beleived they could get back into the game , and they did with the last kick of the game meaning they could have salvaged a draw . They showed why they are top of the league ."

The Bemused spectactor noted hamains have beaten the two sides relegated from the league above in the last two weeks but have lost to the two promoted sides . Hamians were quitely confident before this game that the side selected could match the league leaders in all departments and with home advantage this should bring a positive result .

With the seconds playing Casuals on the adjacent pitch the Point looked splendidi in the autumn sunshine although the wind was bracing for the spectators .

Worksop took the game to hamians and used the wind camped in the hamians half , expecting to bulldoze their way over . A tommmmy leavy tackle set the tempo and hamians first phase game alarmed the visitors as turnover ball meant hamians weathered this first quarter .

Strong scrummage ball allowd the backs to flourish with rombustious play up the middle by the bearded duo in the centre . Slicker handling when space created would have resulted in an earlier score but eventually the lebanesse second in command galloped blind and showing unusual deft hands put the Preston Stonemason in for his first try of the season .

nil at half time

With the wind hamians expected to play in the worksop half but the league leaders thought otherwise and with some ball started to play a more expansive game .

Picking off a hamians lineout in their own 22 , they managed to run and kick chase into the hamian 22 and a indesizive mix up ( cock up ) allowed worksop to score

5 all

Hamians tore back and matt the hatt score in the corner

Jimmy and george combined and jimmy added 5 more with the paddy winger getting his only success of the day .

The penalty miss infront of the posts could have been costly as hamians eased off and worksop scored a try after good forward play and

relentless pressure , with the middle eastern Sadam vice captain watching the game for 10 mins worksop scored to have the conversion to salvage a draw .

With kick falling short 17- 15 win , which probably reflectd the game
