The annual Wolverines Pre-Season Shield warm up tournament will be held again in Wolverhampton and is a great opportunity for new recruits to test out their new found AFL skills without having to travel too far...so keep Saturday 24th February free in your diary for the first pre-season tournament of the year!

The tournament is more of a relaxed affair but of course there is a shield to be won, and where there is a prize there is testosterone fuelled, electrically charged, competitiveness, and that’s just from Kearney. Good news though as this season Neil De Joux as I say not as I do will be fully focussed on his playing and will at no point be required to use his numeracy skills so the Scorpions stand a good chance of success at the tournament.

For the first time in the event’s history there will be a competitive women’s fixture between the Nottingham Scorpions and University of Birmingham. The exhibition match will be played on the main pitch and will showcase the development in the women’s game in the midlands.

Both men’s and women’s Scorpions plyers will be required to wear black shorts and socks and playing guernseys will be provided on the day ALL players must wear a mouth guard. Please bring cash only to purchase food and drinks and of course enter the raffle! Supporters are very welcome to come along too!
