This Saturday the first team play North Shields who we have not played since our last minute win in the county plate final two seasons ago.

Last time out was an incredible match as Nth Shields led in the plate final on the last play. Instead of tapping and kicking the ball out the took a quick tap. We turned the ruck over and then Nick Arbuckle created a break out finished by Sam Busby scoring a 95 metre match winner.

Whilst we have hopes of another victory against our newly promoted opponents they will have targeted this game for a win. Not knowing too much about them should help as we can just focus on ourselves.

Tough week last week against a good Stockton side but Saturdays sees regulars Kit Sorenson, Ross Radford, Ben Wollerton and Jack Hearn return to the squads after injury and unavailability.

Prep on Tuesday was handling and contact fitness based whilst Thursday was about how we want to play on Saturday. Hopefully two well attended training sessions has given us the opportunity to perform well. It has been a tough start to the season with Northern, Boro and Stockton as three out of the four games. However, the boys have stayed together as a group and hope to show higher standards during October.

We look forward to visiting North Shields and having a few beers afterwards.

Up the Vos !
