Investigation into a small number of individuals' fan behaviour.

In the last two weeks we have had some examples of poor behaviour within our fan base and we as a club are determined to stamp this out and that is why the following action is to be taken:

In our New Years Day fixture against Barwell, two of our fans entered the field of play when we equalised. Both of these fans have been identified and the following action, in agreement with Barwell and the FA has been reached. The supporter who confronted the goalkeeper is banned from all Nuneaton Borough FC matches home and away with immediate effect for the rest of the season. The other supporter who celebrated on the field of play has been warned about his future conduct.

In last weekends called off fixture against Biggleswade Town one of our supporters aimed derogatory online abuse at our opposition for calling the game off and also towards our own media team volunteer, when reporting the abandonment. When online abuse happens in this manner the fans are deemed to be representing the club and this is why it will not be tolerated. That fan has also been banned from all Nuneaton Borough FC matches home and away for the remainder of the season.

Both cases will be reviewed post-season. We apologise unreservedly to Barwell FC and Biggleswade Town FC for our so-called supporter's actions and thank them for their understanding and co-operation during the investigation.

If supporters experience any form of discrimination or unacceptable behaviour you can report an incident of discrimination in football - whether it took place online or at a grassroots, non-league or professional game - by filling in the online reporting form below.

Report It! HERE.

We at Nuneaton Borough will not tolerate any forms of ill-discipline or abuse whether it be physical, verbal, or online.

Chairman
