Cops from Nuneaton will take on firefighters from Coventry in a fundraising football match. It will be held on Saturday, May 18 with a 13:00 KO. The match has been organised by PC Lloyd Walton and Rich Stanton, who is a group commander for West Midlands Fire Station.
Both are close friends of Matt Hall who, together with his wife Paula, set up the charity Georgie's Gift as a legacy to their 'little princess' Georgie who sadly lost her young life to meningitis.
"We would like to say a big thank you to the Boro' for supporting the charity," PC Walton said. "It should be a good match, it is free entry but donations are welcomed and the bar will be open."
Nuneaton Borough Commercial Manager Mark Grimes added that "we're happy to help a local charity, and a great cause, with, what promises to be a fiercely contested match. The bar will be open for food and drink and we'll have the FA Cup Final on the big screen afterwards as well."
