Josh Holland reports;

Nuneaton suffered another defeat away from home on Saturday, with St Ives Town securing all three points with a 2-0 victory.

Tom Wood and Ben Seymour-Shove scored for the bottom half side in the final 20 minutes as Boro’s winning run came to an end.

With Boro coming into the clash in good form, their first-half performance was worthy of going into the break ahead.
Finly Iron kept out Benbow, Powell and Kelly-Evans, whilst Towers came close from two separate corners late in the opening 45 minutes.

Whatever Ricky Marheineke said to his team at the interval showed, with Seymour-Shove testing Jordan Wright in the Boro goal.

With the game entering its last 20 minutes, St Ives took the lead when Tom Wood was allowed to drive into the Boro area before firing past Wright.

With no striker on the bench available, Ryan Edmunds and James Clifton were substituted on. However, the hosts remained solid and refused to budge despite the long balls from Boro.

The final nail in the coffin came on the 83rd minute when Seymour-Shove, who was St.Ives most dangerous player, rolled the ball into an empty net after Wright’s loose pass was capitalised on by the former Peterborough United scholar.

Aman Verma was introduced in the hope that a late comeback could be staged, however the hosts stood firm and took all three points at Westwood Road.
