Former Boro-man Reece Styche scored the winner for Buxton in their 2-1 win as Boro were edged out on Saturday afternoon.
Following Tuesday's 9-0 win over Nuneaton Griff and Thursday's 3-0 win over Leicester Road, Boro welcomed Gary Haywood's team to Liberty Way.
Tom Elliot, another former Boro man, put the Bucks ahead in the ninth minute latching onto a loose ball.
However, six minutes later Ravi Shamsi scored his third goal in as many games after neatly turning the ball past Tommy Taylor.
Boro failed to build on the equaliser, with the first-half continuing to be end-to-end. The closest either team came to edging ahead, came to Buxton. Three corners in quick succession saw Boro stay alert, with Joel Kettle eventually clearing the ball.
With no changes at the break, the tempo was not matched in the second half. Buxton enjoyed the majority of the ball, with Boro failing to affect the game in the way they would have liked.
The winner came in the final 15 minutes. A Buxton trialist made his way into the area before winning his side a penalty.
Styche, who had been a nuisance for the Boro backline all day, sent Breeden the wrong way to win the contest.
It was a good pre-season workout for Boro against the strong favourites for the Northern Premier League title.
