Due to the wind interfering with the recording, the interview is transcribed below: TL: Matt, how’d you think you did today? [Oadby’s 4-2 end of season loss to Thurnby Nirvana] MP: What, personally? TL: Personally, and the team. MP: I thought it was a struggle today for the team; and me personally, I thought...I thought Thurnby played well, they worked hard and they played some good football at times on a not so good pitch, and I think that our boys looked a little bit tired, and I didn’t think we really got up for the game for the magnitude of what we needed to get up for the game, obviously quite a big game as we could have finished second if we’d won. I don’t think we ever got near to winning that game, even when we got back to 2-2. TL: It was a real shame, but we’ve got a lot to look forward to next season; if you had any thoughts and aspirations for next season, what would your targets be? MP: I would say brining some of the young players through. I thought our highlights today were some of the young players, Jack Lane, Josh came on and I thought that he did alright. Their little left winger, very tricky, good player, best player on the pitch I thought today, so we’ve got to look to our youngsters for next year. I thought the season was a decent effort, we came third and we gave it a good go, we just fell short. I don’t think today was the problem; the last six or seven games I think we’ve been a little bit tired, lacking. TL: Thank you for that. Just to be a bit cheeky, could I ask you a couple of questions on Leicester City? MP: Yeah, course you can. TL: In terms of the sacking of Sven, what are your thoughts on that? The move from him to Nigel Pearson. MP: Obviously Sven’s a good manager, but I think he made a few signings that I frowned upon, and few of the Leicester City fans frowned upon. So it wasn’t a surprise to me when he was sacked, got Nigel Pearson back and the money that they paid him. I think they’re still working with Sven’s squad, that’s how I feel. Though, Nigel will stay in his position, see who he brings in over the Summer, and hopefully we can push forward for a promotion place next year. If we’re not in a promotion place next year that I think we’re going to have to look at the manager situation again next year TL: Fair enough, and thanks very much for your time today.
