Oaks Old Boys V Balndford RFC Vets
Last night's match was #OOBS first defeat in only are 3rd match together as a team. It was a hugely physical match under the lights at Blanfordrfc. Massive reshuffle of are starting 15 before the game was necessary due to some key players being absent through injury. The ever awesome Tim Flower stepped in to skipper the side due to Luke D B McCabe s late withdraw from an injury we wish him a speedy and successful recovery.
Are biggest changes were to our back line with both Simon Packer
and Dan Landen both stepping into the centre's and both putting in huge shifts worthy enough for MOTM titles but Simon just and I mean just edged it with a performance that can only be described as heroic and brave both Dans and Simons attack and defence was relentless last night. justin danville
and Ian Carter both were a constant threat to Blanfordrfc last night adding tempo and class everytime they had the ball. But this game was won by blanfords pack we more than matched them in the set pieces but there relentless Rucking and physacality at the breakdown along with some on the edge tactics proved to much for us on the night. Half way through the second half the game was there for the taking but we just failed to capitalise on the opportunities we created and towards the end they scored on our errors from there 22. We gave that everything we could and some and I know as a group we can look back on this match not as a disappointment but a learning experience and to be honest going into next weeks #TheHomeComing it's probably given us the shake up we needed. Massive huge thank you to every player / supporter that came down and once again made it a memorable evening of #OOBS Rugby. I look forward to seeing u all next weekend. Huge respect for Blandford rfc for giving us a proper game top stuff and we look forward to entertaining them next season.
