Cents entertained Earlsdon RFC,from Coventry on Saturday in the first of their pre-season fixtures.Earlson were missing a number of senior players and so were Cents,however the visitors still provided useful opponents for the 25+ players the home side put out.
Earlsdon had plenty of ball but lacked the cutting edge of Cents backs and this was the main difference between the two sides. Cents defended well and the players that played looked fit and sharp.
Cents won the match 50-5 and they scored 8 tries through Ross Hannaford(3),Sam Poole(2),Rob Winchle,AlexCox and Dan Tyler.Wayne Mulhern converted three of the tries and Harry Preece converted two.
New boys Sam Poole,Dan Tyler and James Edwards looked useful additions to the Cents first team squad.Returning players Harry Preece,from long term injury,plus Dan Knapman showed what they can still do.
Cents entertain Newent during the week for training and live game drills purposes plus they play Newbold away on Saturday the 31st August.
