Old Cents won their second trial match at Chosen Hill in a closely fought encounter.
The match was played in appalling weather conditions and to their credit both sides played some good rugby and the handling from both sides was first class.
Both sides fielded under strength sides but the match was played at a fast tempo with the ball moved around well in the wet conditions.
Old Cents led 10-7 at half time playing with the slope and deserved their lead.The away side had scored a try by capt Peter Willetts and Craig Anderson converted the try and kicked a further penalty goal,Chosen replied with a converted try of their own.
In the second half Chosen Hill started the stronger of the sides but Old Cents defence was up the mark and kept the home side at bay.
Liam Hemming increased Old Cents lead when he ran through the home side's defence from 50/60 yards out.Craig Anderson converted for a 17-7 lead to Old Cents.
Chosen came back and reduced the away sides lead to 17-12 when they scored an unconverted try with 5/10 mins left.
However Old Cents came back and in the last minutes they scored an unconverted try from Sam Preece.The try came about from a catch and drive from a lineout close to Chosen's try line.
Final Score 22-12 to Old Cents and this was a marked improvement from the Hucclecote match.
