Cents eventually reached their fourth Senior cup final out of the last five years but it was not without a slight scare from a battling Brocwoth side. Brockworth have had a bad season falling to the Gloucester Two North league and it was to their credit that showed up plus they put in a performance to be proud of.Many sides would not have bothered to turn up to play a side four leagues above them and they were not over awed in anyway.
Cents fielded a much changed side from the one that clinched their play off place at the weekend and this did not detract from the Brockworth performance. After Cents scored first,Brockworth had a purple patch and after 20 mins led 5-11.However Cents changed their side and went on to secure their latest trip to the Senior cup final.
Cents led 26-11 at half time and scored four tries through Filip Turkiewice,Joe Preece,George Bvuma and Jim Greenwood.Wayne Mulherne converted three of the tries.
Cents scored a further four tries in the second half through Alex Cox,Filip(second),Sol Farrer and Owen Chandler.Wayne Mulherne converted all four tries to complete Cents scoring.Brockworth to their credit and effort scored two converted tries to leave a score line of 54-25 to Cents.
This was a good match to watch as both sides threw the ball around and although Cents had that little bit more,Brockworth put in a performance for their club to be proud of.
Cents will play Matson in the final on the 11th May although they have a play match of against Launceston on the 27th April to overcome first.Cents should be able to pick from a near fully fit squad for their most important match of the season.
