CENTS WIN AWAY AND STAY TOP

OLD CENTS HANG ON FOR THE WIN AWAY FROM A SECOND HALF COMEBACK AGAINST A TOUGH BRISTOL HARLEQUIN TEAM. THE START OF THE MATCH WAS AS PREDICTED, CENTS USING THEIR SPEEDY BACKS STRAIGHT FROM KICK OFF.
THEN WITH TEN MINUTES GONE THE CENTS SWIFT BACK LINE STARTED OPENING UP AND WITH A DELIGHTFULLY TIMED PASS FROM LEWIS MAY TO JOE PREECE WHO THEN BEAT HIS OPPOSITE MAN TO SCORE IN THE CORNER. HARLEQUINS CAME BACK WITH A EASY PENALTY IN FRONT OF THE POST TO MAKE IT 5-3. FROM THE RESTART THE BRISTOL FORWARDS RAN AT CENTS TO MAKE SPACE FOR THIER BACKLINE BUT THE CENTS DEFENCE STOOD FIRM WITH ANOTHER WEEK OF SUPERB DEFENCE WITH SAM PREECE AND DALE WEST LIKE CONCRETE BLOKES AT THE SIDE OF THE RUCK, THE BALL GOT SPILLED AND CENTS COUNTER ATTACKED THROWING THE BALL WIDE THEN RECYCLING AND SPINNING IT TO THE OPPOSITE WING WITH A 30YRD PASS FROM ANDERSON FOR LIAM HEMMING TO RUN ONTO AND DIVE IN THE CORNER. ANDERSON KICKED A FINE CONVERSION FROM THE TOUCHLINE. SCORE 12-3.
CENTS PLAYING UP THE SLOPE HAD A TOUGH TIME IN THE SCRUMS ON OCCASSION AND THE LINEOUTS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING QUITE RIGHT BUT WITH THE BALL THEY HAD THEY USED TO GOOD EFFECT BY SCORING ANOTHER TRY THROUGH THEIR BACKS WITH A HELD UP PASSFROM ANDERSON TO JOSH PETTIFER WHO RAN A TERIFFIC LINE TO SCORE UNDER THE POST. CRAIG CONVERTED TO MAKE IT 19-3
HARLEQUINS CAME BACK WITH ANOTHER PENALTY RIGHT ON HALFTIME, SCORE 19-6. THE SECOND HALF BELONGED TO HARLEQUINS WHO HAD MOST OF THE POSSESSION BUT COULD NOT BREACH CENTS DEFENCE UNTIL THE LAST 10 MINS WHEN THEY BROKE OUT WIDE FROM A UNCONTESTED SCRUM AND SCORED IN THE CORNER WHICH WAS CONVERTED TO MAKE THE FINAL SCORE 19-13.CENTS LOST LEWIS MAY AND LIAM HEMMING OUT OF THE BACKLINE AND JOHN HUXTABLE FROM THE FLANK THROUGH INJURY AND WAS REPLACE BY KIRON BLACKMORE, DEAN HARPER AND RICH FAULKNER WHO ALL PLAYED THERE PART.
STILL THINGS TO WORK ON BUT IT WAS A ROCK SOLID DEFENCE THAT WON THEM THE GAME THIS TIME. JOE PREECE WAS NAMED MAN OF THE MATCH FOR A NEAR PERFECT GAME.
