CENTS GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS...33-3

OLD CENTS GOT BACK TO WINNING WAYS LAST SATURDAY WITH A MUCH IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AGAINST BRISTOL HARLEQUINS.
THE FIRST XV HAD A RESHUFFLE OF THE SIDE THAT HAVE LOST THIER LAST 4 GAMES, DALE WEST MOVED TO NO 8 WITH RICH PINKNEY MOVING TO FLY HALF AND CRAIG ANDERSON SWITCHING TO SCRUM HALF. ROB PINKNEY MOVED INTO INSIDE CENTER WHICH HAS BEEN HIS 4TH POSITION OF THE SEASON.
IT WAS A BRAVE GAMBLE BY COACH JACK PREECE WHO HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PLAYERS EFFORT AND ATTITUDE OVER THE LAST MONTH BUT WAS REALLY PLEASED WITH THE GUYS PERFORMANCE ESPECIALLY THE PLAYERS WHO CHANGED POSITION. CRAIG ANDERSON HAD AN EXCELLENT GAME AT SCRUM HALF AND CONTROLLED THE FORWARDS REALLY WELL AND RICH PINKNEY AT 10 AND ROB PINKNEY AT INSIDE CENTER MADE SEVERAL RUNS CROSSING THE GAIN LINE AND SCORING A TRY A PIECE.
DALE WEST PLAYED VERY WELL AT NO 8 MAKING SOME BIG TACKLES AND WAS VOTED MAN OF THE MATCH WHICH WAS HARD TO DO AS THE WHOLE TEAM PUT IN A GOOD PERFORMANCE.
THE GAME STARTED AT A FAST PACE WITH ROB PINKNEY SCORING IN THE FIRST 5 MINS CRASHING THROUGH TWO TACKLES AND GOING UNDER THE POSTS THEN WITH THE BALL GOING THROUGH THE HANDS TIME AFTER TIME BROTHER RICH SCORED ALMOST AN IDENTICAL TRY BUT WITH A SIDESTEP THROWN IN.
THE THIRD TRY CAME FROM A RUN DOWN THE WING BY JOSH PETTIFER WHO GAVE A NICE PASS TO CAPT "PIG ROAST PETE" WHO RAN A DELIGHTFUL LINE TO RUN UNAPPOSED OVER THE LINE AND WITH ANDERSON IN FINE FORM WITH HIS BOOT KICKED ALL THE CONVERSIONS.
HARLEQUINS ONLY CAME AWAY WITH A PENALTY TO MAKE IT 21-3 AT THE END OF THE FIRST HALF.

THE SECOND HALF BECAME MUCH HARDER FOR CENTS AS THE BRISTOL SIDE STEPPED UP THEIR GAME AND KEPT IT TIGHT WITH THEIR FORWARDS DOING WELL TO KEEP POSSESION AND KEPT CENTS IN THEIR 22M AREA FOR LONG PERIODS BUT COMING UP AGAINST A SOLID DEFENCIVE LINE TIME AND TIME AGIAN.
ANDERSON THEN BOSSING THE FORWARDS WELL AND FORCING THE AWAY SIDE TO GIVE AWAY PENALTIES KICKED UP THE LINE FOR HIS FORWARDS TO WIN A LINEOUT AND A GREAT BREAK FROM LIAM HEMMING WHO PASSED INSIDE TO ROB PINKERS WHO KEPT IT ALIVE FOR MIKE MUMFORD TO KICK AHEAD AND CHASE TO SCORE IN THE CORNER.
THE LAST TRY CAME FROM JOSH PETTIFER WHO INTERCEPTED A PASS AND RAN IN 60M TO SCORE UNDER THE POSTS.

THE CENTS PLAYERS REALLY STEPPED UP THEIR GAME TODAY AND PLAYED WITH PLENTY OF SPIRIT AND ENJOYED THERESELVES AND OUR DEFENCE WAS LIKE IT WAS AT THE START OF THE SEASON. WE WILL ALWAYS SCORE TRY'S SO WE JUST NEED TO KEEP OUR DEFENCE AT TOP LEVEL.

IT WAS ALSO GOOD TO SEE SO MANY PLAYERS DRESSED AS SANTA AFTER THE GAME AND HAD A GOOD TIME WATCHING JONER KICKING OFF!
