Cents went to Royal Wotton Bassett and came off second best against a good home side who will cause a few surprises this season in the South West East One league. Before the advent of the leagues Cents used to play RWB on a regular basis and always enjoyed well played matches and this one was no different and the home side were very hospitable with very good facilities.
On the day Cents were second best in every department against a young side who played well for each other and never allowed Cents to settle. This was a match Cents never looked up for and if they are to be amongst the promotion hopefuls perhaps this was a wake up call and remind them this league will not be easy.
Cents bad day was compounded with bad injuries to Capt.Scott Fritchley,Lewis May and Pete Willetts.
Cents scored their points through tries by Joe Preece and Rob Jones with Harry Preece scoring one penalty.Cents next match is against Swindon at home and they will have to play with a better attitude plus cut out elementary mistakes if they are to stand any chance of winning.
