Still early days and no need to panic, but Cents bad discipline cost them dearly in this narrow loss.
Injury prone Cents started the game a little lethargic but had plenty of territory but not enough clean ball to cause any damage.
The first 15 minutes Cents got on the wrong side of the ref giving away several penalties and had Hooker Ryan Stokes sin binned.
The walking wounded Liam Hemming gave Cents the lead with a penalty and then Hornets with the one man advantage struck back with a driving maul which was converted to give them a 7=3 lead.
Soon after Rich Pinkney jinked his way under the post to make his tally 3 tries in 3 games leaving Hemming a simple convertion.
Half time came with Cents lucky to be leading 10-7 and match day coach Kevin Hemming had to bring the team together to get them motivated for the start of the second half.
The first half was full of bad dicsipline, silly mistakes and no structure but good defence kept them in the lead.
The second half started really well for a 10 minute spell and it looked like Cents had found there way and got rewarded with a single penalty with Hemming converted well, the score now 13-7.
With still good territory and Cents keeping Hornets pinned in there own half disaster struck with Hornets young fly half chipping over the top for their winger to catch a kind bounce and freely running past Lewis May into the corner for a fine try, the conversion was missed, still Cents lead 13-12.
Cents Mike mumford then made a fine run down the wing to feed May who stepped inside a couple of defenders to score under the post's but was brought back by the very honest Cents linesman who said his foot was in touch so the ref disallowed the try.
Cents then brought on new replacements with Shaun Hagan comin in at scrun half and James Elliott on as prop.
After 10 minutes Elliott was sinned binned for pulling down a maul and with 5 minuetes left Hornets scored the winner with another driving maul which was converted.
Cents came back with a couple of minutes left but spilled the ball with any chances the had, the score finnished 20-13 with Cents getting a deserved bonus point.
Club Captain Pete Willetts said "the team are disappointed today but we deserved to lose, we didn,t play with full commentment and not enough guts, just too many errors and it cost us in the end.
I don,t think anyone in this League will win every game and we will look forward to Hornets at our place later in the season and hopefully we can make amends for today.
We are lucky we have strenght in depth this season as we have many players out at the moment but i was very pleased how the new guys are doing. The positive thing today was that we came away with a bonus point and our one on one defence was pretty good.
We will have to improve to get in the top half and I know we are very capable.
