Cents ruined Gordon Leagues Reunion day with a fine display of running rugby and scoring 9 trys in total for a 59-3 victory.
Cents playing down the slope in the first half knew they had to put some points on the board and they did just that in the first few minutes when No 8 Mike Mumford crashed over under the post with Liam Hemming converting.
A few minutes later Hemming extended the lead with a simple penalty to make it 10 -0 in as many minutes.
League then had their first chance of points when they intercepted a pass from 60m out and opted to kick ahead but was out paced by Liam Hemming who then counter attacked using Cents speedy back three but a forward pass refused winger Joe Preece a try in the corner.
Five minutes later Preece had another chance and took on his winger and scored in the same corner, 15-0.
League did manage to get past Cents solid defence and came away with three points, 15-3
Cents then hit straight back at them by throwing the ball along the backline to blindside flanker Rob Pinkney who ran a good line to put former League player Ben Turk in the corner, 20-3.
Then just before half time Hemming gathered the ball in midfield and ran around the whole of leagues backline to put the ball down in he corner but again missed the conversion but he did make up for it with a penalty in front of the posts on the 40 minute mark to give Cents a 28-3 lead at half time.
The second half started with League battling hard and keeping Cents stuck in there own half but could not break the defence line.
Cents threw the ball wide at every opportunity and brought on substitute prop James Elliot who got straight into the game with a bullocking run leaving a trail of League players on the floor behind him, the ball then went out to Mumford who put Hooker John Huxstable in for a try. to make it 33-3.
Although League never gave up in the game they were never really a match for the fitter Cents side who then ran away with the game in the last 20 minutes with Mike Mathers taking a good line to run under the posts with Hemming converting.
Liam Hemming then got his second score after several phases when the ball was feed along the line to him to canter in.
Cents then ran in two more try's from there own 22m area to put winger Joe Preece in for his hatrick, Hemming converting both. Final score 59-3
Difficult to pick Man of the Match but there were some good peformances from No 8 Mike mumford and Hooker John Huxtable who both ran there legs off but Lewis May takes it for his counter attacking from fullback assisting many of thr try's.
Club Coach Jack Preece said "We were confident in winning today as the League are struggling this season, but although we had a big score we still made alot of silly mistakes and missed 2 or 3 simple chances but I was pleased with the defence and we didn't let them back in the game after a 28-3 lead at half time. Last week we were up 29-0 and let North Bristol come back and scored 19 pts, but we held on.
We had some quality players missing today so winnig by a big margin was a credit to our strength in depth."
