Cents went down to North Bristol hoping for a good result after a disapointing loss last weekend.
North Bristol are Cents boggy side and they knew it was going to be a tough and an important game.
The pitch was in perfect condition for Cents running style of rugby, but their form in the first half was sluggish and lackluster.
North Bristol were well in control of the first 40 minutes with fly half (Lambo) putting in a great performance, keeping Cents pinned in their own half.
North scored the first try with a good driving maul from a lineout but missing the conversion to give them a 5-0 lead on the 20 minute mark.
Cents had a chance to claw back with a penalty but it sailed wide. North Bristol extended thier lead with a well taken penalty to make it 8-0.
The scrums and lineouts were going well for both sides throughout the game and with Loosehead Prop James Elliott coming off after 30 minutes flanker Mike Mumford moved up to prop and again done remarkably well, as did the replacement Mike Mathers who came onto the flank and had a solid game.
Cents did have one chance when Rich Pickney split the defence and raced to the corner and passed to Liam Hemming who touched down but the referee disallowed the try for a forward pass.
Cents were loosing alot of possession with lack of players at the ruck area and it was not until the final minute of the first half Cents had a penalty in which quick thinking scrumhalf Craig Anderson took a quick tap from his own 10m line and passed it out wide to Prop Scott Fritch who threw out a lovely waited pass to hooker Nathan Stroud who put Liam Hemming into a gap to race 50m to score in the corner for a fine try. Hemming missed the conversion which went wide.
The half time score 8-5 to N Bristol.
The second period Cents came to life and stared attacking N Bristol's try line but they defended superbly to keep Cents out with some gallant tackling.
Then they were over eager at a ruck in their 5m area and gave away a penalty in which resulted with them loosing a player to the bin.
From the lineout Cents drove over the line with Flanker Kieron Blackmore touching down. Anderson kicked a fine conversion from the touchline, score 12-8 to Cents.
With Flyhalf Rich Pinkney now making yards and bringing his backs into the game at every opportunity what came next was the best try of the day when from a Cents lineout 10m from their tryline the ball went along the backs out to Winger Joe Preece who outpaced his opposite winger and passed back inside to fullback Lewis May who ran the last 50m and offloaded back to his winger who stretched out of the tackle to touch down and left Anderson to get the extra 2 points from out wide. Score now 19-8.
N Bristol then came back with a fine try of their own in the corner from a good 5m scrum. N Bristol's Flyhalf put in a fine kick to get the extra points to bring the score 19-15.
Cents attacked the line several more times but spilt the ball on the line but in the last play of the match Rob Pinkney broke wide to feed Winger Rob Jones who finnished in the corner to get Cents a fourth try and bonus point.
Cents Man of the Match went to Scrumhalf Craig Anderson for his solo rucking in the first half also Hooker Nathan Stroud who put in a excellant 2nd half performance.
(The Referee did well also to distinguish between the colour of the shirts!)
