Cents kept up the pressure on the top two sides in Western Counties North with big win over a struggling Stroud side rooted at the bottom of the league table.
Cents were better than Stroud in all departments of the game and the away side did not have any answers to the speed and support play of the inventive home sides style of open play.Stroud were themselves a young side like Cents and despite the score line the away side stuck at their task and tried to play rugby.
Cents scored from their very first passage of play and by half time they had the game won and had the all important bonus point secured.Cents led 40-3 at half time and had scored tries through Liam Hemming(2), John Huxtable,Nathan Stroud,Joe Preece and Lewis May.Liam Hemming converted five of the tries to complete the home scoring and Stroud had scored from a penalty.
Cents continued their dominance of the match in the second half when they scored another seven tries.Cents second half try scorers were Lewis May(2)to complete his hatrick,Liam Hemming(2)making total of four tries,Ryan Townsend,Matt Humphries and capt Pete Willetts.Liam Hemming converted three of the tries to complete the home sides scoring.
Cents were very clinical on the day and as said before were too powerful for the youthful looking Stroud side that came to the Stade de Bridge. It is disappointing to see such a proud side like Stroud at the bottom of the pile in the Western Counties North as they were once one of the power house sides of the County. However if the young side they have show the battling spirit they showed today, they will rise again.
Cents now turn their attention to next week when they play their re-arranged match with Gordon League at home.On paper this should be an another win for the home side, however with this being a local derby and the League being another proud side,Cents should not take this match for granted.Gordon league are more than capable of putting up a fight and perhaps causing a few problems.
