Cents see off dangerous Cirencester with big win in warm up for important week ahead.

Cents won their final league match against a dangerous Cirencester side and with Chard winning easily at the League,Cents finished in the runners up spot with a play off game awaiting them next saturday.
Although the score line suggests Cents had it easy against Cirencester, this was misleading because the away sides young backs more than matched the home sides three's.If Cirencester's forwards had been able to provide their young backs with more ball, this match might have been interesting. However, today it was turn of the Cents pack to steal the show with a great display in all areas of the match. The home sides scrummage was on top all match and with their line out and loose play functioning well, they dominated the Cirencester pack.
Cirencester were first to score from a penalty when Cents were caught off side at a ruck and this lead was short lived and by half time the home side led 27-3 with the all important bonus point secured.Cents had scored four tries through Dave Knight,Scott Fritchley,Dale West and Rob Pinkney.Scott Fritchley's score was the pick off the first half tries because the forwards had mauled the Cirencester pack for forty metres before Scott grounded the ball.
Cents first half scoring was completed by Craig Anderson scoring a drop goal and Liam Hemming converting two of the tries. The score reflected how much Cents were on top,but Cirencester's backs had shown during the first half how dangerous they were.
The second half started with a bang when Cirencester came out firing on all cylinders for the first 10 mins of the half. They scored two well taken tries created by their speedy young backs and for a moment Cents were rocked and we were in for a close match. Both tries went unconverted and once Cents managed to lay their hands on the ball again the home side went on to win the match with ease.
Cents scored a further 4 tries in the second half through Richard Pinkney,Matt Humphries and Dale West(his second) and Scott Fritchley(his second) and the home sides scoring was completed by Liam Hemming converting all four tries.Today was unusual because seven of Cents tries were scored by thier forwards and this reflected their dominance up front.
Cents now turn their attention to the Senior Cup semi final on wednesday against Glos Old Boys and the play off match against Torquay next saturday. Both games are important and could see Cents finish the season on a high in our 75th anniversary year.
