Cents lose second home match of the season.

Cents entertained promotion hopefuls Banbury at the Stade de Bridge this weekend.Cents lost by a point at Banbury early in the season so an interesting match was in prospect as the away side were on a big unbeaten run of matches at the moment.
This match was a closely fought affair with both defences on top throughout the game with scoring chances few and far between and it was the away side who took two of the chances to win the match.Near the start of the match Banbury converted a penalty and just before half time they also scored an unconverted try. These were the only scores in the match as there was no further scores in the second half although this was not through lack of effort by both sides.
Cents make shift side acquitted themselves well against title chasing Banbury as they competed well in defence and in the forwards. In the tight the home side had the edge taking two or three against the head plus the lineout went well. However in the loose Banbury had the edge turning over ball in crucial areas in defence. With up to 8 first choice backs not available Cents struggled against a quick and inventive Banbury back line.
Cents play at Witney next week another good side especially at home and we will need to have some players back in order to get a result there.Cents wish Banbury well in their quest for promotion and all may still not be lost for that automatic top spot promotion.
