Strong defense wins Cents latest victory.

Cents stunned free scoring Marlborough with a great defensive display against a side containing a lot of South Sea islanders.Apart from last weekend when they lost to Newbury Blues, league new boys Marlborough have swept all before them with their attacking flair and pace. This week they came up against a strong tackling Cents side who fought for everything and still had the flair of their own to record a four try bonus point win.
At one point Cents were down to 13 players through yellow card offences and during this period they with held a strong Marlborough effort on their line to deny the home side a score.Cents in fact won the match in the dying minutes when they scored a try wide out to tie the scores at 24-24 then up stepped Wayne Mulhern to convert from wide out against a strong wind and this was the icing on the cake for the away side.Rob Jones scored the winning try following a great break by Lewis May and Cents other try scorers were Shay Morgan,Ryan Townsend and Luke Jones. Shay Morgan converted two of the three tries to complete Cents scoring.
Cents now have a week off and in a fortnights time they will be entertaining unbeaten leaders Newbury Blues who completed the league double over Cents two seasons ago.Newbury should be wary of a Cents side who are hitting some form and the home side will certainly be looking forward to the challenge turning over the league leaders, this current Cents side is much better than the one Newbury played against two seasons ago.
