Cents lose their top of the table clash at Chard and slip to third in the league.

Old Cents travelled to Chard in their top of the table clash and gave a good account of themselves in defeat.Cents knew that they would be in for a difficult match and would have to be at their best to come away with anything from this match.Cents were well in the match up till the last 25 mins but were never in the game in the final quarter as Chard were a lot stronger and this was the same as at Cents where they hung on for a narrow victory at home.
Cents were 12-3 down at halftime and they had their chances to put tries on the score board in an evenly contested first half. One of Chards two tries had come from an interception whilst Cents were well on the attack and the away side scored a penalty through Liam Hemming.

Cents were well incontention going into the final 25 mins of the match with the score at 12-8 where Pete Willetts had scored an unconverted try after a period of pressure on the home side's line. However Chard upped their game and dominated the final quarter as the Cents side tired.Chard won the match with a drop goal, two tries and one conversion and they now look set to take the Western Counties North title.
Cents played their part in an entertaining and with loss this they dropped to third behind Matson who had a big win at Stroud. However Cents have a game in hand and are only a point behind but they have a potentially tough match at Yatton next week.Yatton has never been a happy hunting ground for the Cents so the young Cents side will have to bounce back straight away.
