Cents bounced back from the seasons opening match defeat with a fine win away to Salisbury.Salisbury has proved to be a difficult place to go to in recent seasons for Cents, they have either lost heavily or scrapped to narrow victories.
Cents were expecting no different yesterday and so it proved in the first half where there was plenty of attacking intent but on the whole both sides defences were on top.Cents led 0-7 at the break thanks to a Luke Jones try plus conversion by Harry Preece and at this stage a close contest seemed to be on the cards.
However the second half was a different matter and once Cents increased their lead to 7-19 they pressed on to overwhelm Salisbury with 7 tries in the second half.Cents were full of running in the last half hour of the match and Salisbury were left chasing shadows with Cents going on to collect a try scoring bonus point.Cents second half tries were scored by Luke Jones(his second),Alex Cox(2),Sam Pooley(2) on his debut,Charles Lichenstein and Harry Preece.Harry Preece converted 7 of the tries to complete Cents scoring.
Cents scrum and lineouts were near perfect and the backs looked full of running.Cents man of the match was Luke Jones closely followed by Capt.Sam Preece and fellow prop Owen Chandler.
Next Saturday Cents play Sherborne at home and it will be their first visit to the Stade de Bridge.Sherborne put 40 points on Marlborough this weekend and this shows they are a team not to be taken lightly. They also ran Matson close at home in the Intermediate cup last season.
