Cents lose top of the table clash

Cents lost their first home match of the season and only their second defeat of the current league campaign when they lost to a very powerful Bracknell side.
Bracknell came to Cents as the league leaders and ended the day consolidating their lead at the top of the table when the won a very closely fought match.
The scoreline might suggest a dull and boring match, but nothing could be further from the truth. This match was a pulsating affair from start to finish and everything a supporter would like to see in a match played by the two best sides in the league. Both sides tried to run the ball from everywhere despite the muddy conditions and the handling was exceptional as there was hardly any errors with ball in hand all day.The tackling from both sides was ferocious and committed plus the game although physical was played in the true spirit of the game.
The difference between the two sides was perhaps that Bracknell took what few scoring chances they had and were slightly more physical in the tackle area.Cents certainly had their chances to win this match and will look back on a couple of missed try scoring chances plus a couple of penalty kicks went begging. However Cents more than matched Bracknell in every aspect of this match which was a joy to watch.
For the record Bracknell scored two penalties in each half to secure their hard fought victory and Cents responded with a try from Nathan Stroud and a penalty converted by Liam Hemming.
Cents can be proud of their performance and now must concentrate on earning the runners up spot provided Bracknell do not slip up,there is still a long way to go for the season and there could be slip ups from both sides.Cents provided they keep on winning can book the runners up spot and home match in the play off finals.Cents next match will be at Cheltenham on saturday and this will be a tough fixture despite the Tigers losing at Newbury this weekend.
