Cents battle to narrow defeat in epic contest at Bracknell

Cents narrowly lost out on third place in the league when they just lost to Bracknell away from home yesterday.Cents and Bracknell were both fighting for the coverted third league position after champions Redingensians and runners up Exmouth.
This was an epic battle played by two sides who love to throw the ball around from anywhere and was a fitting end to a great season for both sides.Cents had to settle for second best on the day but ran Bracknell mighty close and the little club from Gloucester can be very pleased with their achievements this season especially after just escaping relegation last season, finishing fourth is the highest a Gloucester junior club has finished in the league structure.
In the match it's self Bracknell scored first early on and then after 23 minutes Cents raced had into a 7-21 lead through tries by Liam Hemming,Rich Pinkney,Sam Smith and all the tries were converted by Liam Hemming. Then by half time Bracknell them selves had come from behind to lead at half time 28-21 when they scored three converted tries. The score at half time reflected the closeness of the game plus also showing the adventure shown by both sides by throwing the ball around.
The second half pretty much went the same way as the first with both defences struggling to contain either side.Bracknell were the first to score in the second half through a converted try, score 35-21 to the home side and they pretty much expected to kick on from there. However Cents are made of sterner stuff this season and they themselves bounced back with two converted tries of their own and they were both scored by Kieran Blackmore with Liam Hemming converting both of the tries.Score 35-35 and with about with about 15 minutes to play Bracknell scored an unconverted which won them the match and they then kept it tight to see off Old Cents.

As mentioned before great game for both sets of supporters and Cents are more than happy to have finished fourth in the league. On the question of Cents electronic scoreboard, I can now reveal to Bracknell that is not an electronic score board but one that appears to look like one.
