Before the main event, however, the club are running a taster session for Under-13 girls through to Under-18s at College Meadow with a special guest coach - our very own Joe Garratt of Love Island fame.

Joe, who started playing for Elthamians as an Under-7 and played all the way through to the 1st XV, was an integral part of the club’s successful U18 side which reached the National Colts Cup final in 2015.

“After the excitement of the summer, it will be great to go back to the club and get involved with rugby again,” Joe said. “I’m really looking forward to doing some coaching and hopefully we will have a good turnout.”

Alongside Joe, we will also have players from our Women’s XV putting the girls through skills-based sessions, in the build-up to the big kick-off against Wimbledon.

The U13-U18s girls Inner Warrior Camp starts from 12.00 until 14.00 at College Meadow (Marvels Lane SE12 9PH) prior to the league game.

Held regularly at clubs across the country, the RFU's Inner Warrior Camps are a fun-packed, commitment-free way for females to experience rugby for the first time. With plenty of help on hand, we will introduce you to the basics of rugby – passing, kicking and tackling, coupled with enjoyable fitness routines – 'helping you step out of your comfort zone and unearth your Inner Warrior'.
