A much improved performance at the Kent7s saw the under14s reach the Cup Quarter Finals.

Thanks for the parents who made the trip down to Folkstone to watch and support the boys in the sunshine. I think we would all agree its was time well spent as the boys really did themselves justice in a very tough and competitive tournament. What a great way to finish our non tour season.A brief description of events for you non sevens players. Drawn in a tough group we had a dire first 3 minutes against Sevenoaks going 3 tries down before turning it around and drawing the rest of the game to lose 5-2. Our heads could easily have gone down but they didn't. We turned around and beat a strong Beckenham side resoundingly by my best guess is 4-1. Then a good performance against some team who name I forget before thrashing Gravesend B and then having to beat a strong ashford side by a good margin to go through in second place and proceed to the main cup. We did and got through on try count. At this stage we had a few walking wounded but taped them together to put in a good performance against the eventual winners of the tournament Old Beccs by 4 tries to 2. It was unfortunate to face Beccs at this stage as from what I could see we could have some of the sides in the other quarters.Moments of note below
Will Walker's first try for the club which was run in from the halfway
(its a good job he scored as the other six were watching from the halfway line ).

Seeing Jacob run at full tilt to score against Beccs ( we always knew he had another gear ).

Jack for showing we have two gas man in the team
Jamie flying into tackles in the later rounds.

George literally killing two boys even smaller than his dad and being penalised for tackling too hard.
Virtually every scrum won whether our ball or not (Jobber has never enjoyed 7's as much but wants to know why we did knock on more so we could have more scrums )

Superb desperate defence at times from the whole team with Jacob and Archie pulling off some brilliant last ditch tackles.

Great to have Remy back after so long and he really made an impact for. And strong contributions from Alex and Sam as well.
Also Joe for coming on strapped on and limping despite a bad ankle.
All the boys played a full role in the day some playing more than others but all contributing.
It was very rewarding day for the coaches and the boys should be really proud of what they achieved. The team played for each other in a way perhaps we haven't always done and left nothing in the tank at all. I wouldn't have been able to pick a player of the day as everybody played to their max.Let's finish the season off on tour as we played today and give Andy a proper send off.Lastly thanks to pierce and harry for turning up to support the boys. It was much appreciated.
