On a chilly morning the under 14s set out to Colfe's knowing that they were in for a tough morning. Playing up the hill in the first half, we managed to put Colfe's under a lot of pressure and following a kick through, chased by James Cozens, George Whichello fell on the loose ball to score a try. This was to be the only score of the half, despite the fact that our forwards were securing a lot of possession through their strong scrummage and work in the ruck.
The half time team talk concentrated on the need to concentrate and work hard downhill.
In the second half Colfe's turned on the power and flair and scored 4 tries, some of which could have been avoided by tackling but in general were down to some good play by Colfe's, in particular young Mr Gallagher. We did run of steam in the second half, our fitness levels wre not as they should be, and having missed out on a couple of training sessions/matches we lacked sharpness. That said, we did play some good stuff at times and put Colfe's under a lot of pressure at times.
Here's to 2011.
