...Oldfield played some good rugby spending a lot of time in the Red Zone.

Oldfield went 10 nil up in the 38th minutes with a superb interception try by Conrad Braithwaite, which was converted by Rob Payne. And a further penalty in the 37th minute stretched the lead. Unfortunately, a lack of concentrations saw Oldfield conceded a try in the last minute of the first half, which ended 5-13.
A disastrous start to the second half saw St Bernadettes score in the first minute and again in the 47th minute. However, Oldfield stuck to a running game and were eventually rewarded with another try from Conrad Braithwaite in the 55th minute, again converted by Payne. In a somewhat niggly period, which saw the opposition have three players sinned binned the Oldfield forwards stood strong and solid.
In the last play of the game, the red wall of Oldfield’s line was breached and a converted try from St Bernadettes saw the game end, 22-20 with Oldfield’s second row, Arron Collins-Thomas awarded man of the match.
To Oldfield’s credit, this was a game where the result didn’t reflect on the performance of the day as they earned a deserved bonus point and will look take a lot of positives from the game as they entertain Winscombe, at home, this Saturday.
