A rock solid display cemented our position in 2nd place in the table as we put six tries on London Exiles to stretch eight points clear of third place.
Continuing from his superb hat-trick from last week Tim Lamming scored the first, before Jamie Lashley grabbed a second and Pip Bird finished under the sticks to make it three tries in the first 15 minutes.
Exiles hit back with a score of their own, and the Barnes side frustrated us for long periods before scrum-half Ben Regan finally produced an excellent snipe to snatch the bonus point.
It was more of the same in the second half, with chances aplenty going begging as the final pass couldn’t quite land; it was ultimately Exiles who got the next score, and though they missed the kick it gave them hope of a few bonus points of their own.
But Nicky Bird made sure of the win as he powered over, and his brother Pip then made it a brace, cruising in to secure a well-earned victory and another man of the match award for himself.
Significantly, this triumph secured qualification to the Papa Johns Cup competition for April and May 2025, giving us a chance to earn a place at Twickenham for the first time in 31 years.
