We’re thrilled to announce that, for the second year running, our club has been named a finalist at the Mirror Group Club Awards 2024! Last year, we proudly took home the title of Community Rugby Club of the Year. This year, we're honoured to see both the Hornets and our Walking Rugby sections shortlisted in three key categories.
The awards took place on 27th November in Leicester and OLRFC Committee member, Hornets manager and nominees Emma Smith attended the sporting celebrations.

The Club Awards applaud UK clubs of all shapes and sizes, from Rugby Clubs and Cricket Clubs to Social Clubs and Community Clubs and everything in between. Now in their 32nd year, all elements of club life are recognised at the Awards, as we join together celebrate all that's great about Clubs across the UK and throw a spotlight on the vital role that clubs play in their communities.
The Club Mirror Mag Awards, bestowed the Community Club of the Year accolade upon Old Leamingtonians RFC in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the local community and the broader rugby fraternity.
Old Leamingtonians RFC has long been a cornerstone of community development, using the sport of rugby as a vehicle for positive change. Through various initiatives, the club has consistently demonstrated its dedication to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
Among the club's notable achievements are its grassroots programs, the highly successful age grade rugby and mixed ability rugby to name but a few, which have introduced rugby to a diverse range of participants, fostering a love for the sport and promoting physical fitness. Additionally, Old Leamingtonians RFC has actively engaged in charitable endeavours where ever possible, partnering with local organisations to support community welfare projects.
Club Chair, Gemma Lewis expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, "A special shout-out to Emma Smith for her invaluable contributions to the Hornets section and working alongside other club officials on the clubs safeguarding!
