We're not one to dwell on disappointment, so we're not doing a full match report from last Saturday's defeat to Nestle. Needless to say, we came second. But that doesn't tell the full story. We had the better of the forward exchanges and most of the opposition tries were breakaway scores. If we can cut out silly errors and stick to our structure, we're definitely heading in the right direction.
Tries against Nestle came from Stead, Oddy, Couves and Spencer. We're keeping a record of all try scorers this season and you'll be able to see who is leading the charts on the statistics page.
Anyway, enough about last week - let's move on to our focus this week: Halifax RUFC.
Time / location
Kick off is at 3pm on the hallowed turf at Cookridge Lane. As always, get there early to get drinks in. There's also a BBQ after in the club car park so it should be a good day all round.
The Opponents
Like us, Halifax also started their season with defeat, losing by two points to Aireborough. By the sound of the match report, which you can read here, it was a really close game which wasn't decided until right at the very end.
We're hesitant to talk about 'last season's' fixtures against them, because it was so long ago, but we're sure Halifax's physical and competitive nature still remains and will result in a good, hard-fought context.
How we're looking
A bit like last week, we're missing a couple of players, but we also have a couple of returnees so swings and roundabouts. The debutants looked really good last week and it will be interesting to see how they push on.

Thanks for reading, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday where hopefully we can get our season up and running.
