Past Players 1 of 2

1. Jim Lord

One of our own....

Former player Jim Lord (now a VP) flew a Lancaster on 28 missions over Germany in WW2. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross by the King and had a book written about him called "Flying with The Lord".

Jim played it down saying you only got a DFC if you flew home on one engine and with a leg blown off, or if you completed a full tour. Since he was rubbish at flying on one engine he thought he'd better just finish the lot!

You will notice that his name appears on the cricket team board on the left hand wall as you go into the changing rooms.

FL/LT JIM LORD DFC AND CREW
Jim is believed to be middle top leaning on someone's shoulders (TBC)
