Rishworthians go into a home top of the table clash with Roundhegians keen to get back to winning ways and replace our Leeds rivals at the head of Yorkshire Two.

The clubs have been battling for promotion and have drawn 15 points ahead of their third place rivals Ripon.

Rishworthians dropped to two points behind Roundhegians after a defeat at Wath Upon Dearne last week, but we are still in confident mood because of home advantage and also look back to a victory at the Leeds club in October.

“Continuity is a big thing and we are keeping faith with the players who have done so well for us this season,” said director of rugby Jon Bake.

Until last week Rishworthians had won 12 games in a row, but it was not a case of unlucky 13.

“We were beaten by a bigger, heavier team, who played the conditions and their narrow pitch much better.

“There has been a great attitude in training and we need to continue that self-belief now that we’ve come to the business end of the season,” he said.

They retain last week’s players, but add flanker Harry Robinson to the bench.
