The introduction of parking charges supports the Council’s wider policies on parking and sustainable travel. This ensures a consistent approach across the borough and encourages more people to walk, cycle, use public transport or car sharing when visiting our parks. The Council has listened carefully to the views of sports clubs and other park users during the statutory consultation. In response, charges will be reduced by 50% at weekends for the first 12 months, making them more affordable for sports groups who use these car parks most at these times.
