On Saturday 6th April Old Streetonians 1st XV completed their season finishing in the highest league position in the clubs 35 year history.

Old Streetonians 1st XV - unbeaten in their last eleven fixtures took to the field in front of a large home crowd to play league leaders London Scottish. It was the home side who got on the score board first with a try in the corner by Jamie Wilson, running in a great offload from Rich Hadfield. The visitors soon came back to take a narrow lead with a catch and drive. Street were very quickly back in the visitors 22 pressuring the LS defense, Jack O’Connor crossed the line but was deemed to be held up. Undeterred Street surged back, this time Gerry Ryan muscled his way through to make the game neck and neck at the break.
Old Streetonians opened the scoring in the second half with a great kick through from Cillian Burke which Jack Ridley chased down to ground in the corner. Street then found themselves under the cosh and received two yellows in quick succession for infringements on their line. However this only served to fire up the remaining thirteen players and during this period Old Street ran in two more unanswered tries, the first from Jack Longbottom under the sticks and then Cillian Burke showing his pace gave Street a 10 point cushion. Back to a full-strength side, Elliot Handler bundled over for the 6th and final try of the day. Fly half Ojo FitzPatrick had been on form all afternoon providing the extras. Final score Old Streetonians 39 -LS 27.
Street finish the league in second place on 85 points and the highest league position in the club history.
The afternoon was topped off with a celebration in recognition of the 13 years Harry Marson spent at the club and his 9 years as captain. It was wonderful to see so many old teammates.
