Old Tiffinians rounded off a productive few months of training with a comfortable 44-22 win over Cobham RFC in their sole pre-season fixture.
Andy Blackburn's (2004) men put in an impressive display under the Friday night lights away at Fairmile Lane as a hat-trick for centre Sharif Dougramaji (2015) helped assert his side's dominance across the 25-minute thirds.
Will Sharp (2017), in a rare start at inside centre, slotted all six of his conversion attempts in a sublime display of kicking off the tee.
Former Bristol University club captain Sharp spent time at Cobham as a youngster along with fly-half George Taylor (2012) and together the duo laid on the majority of the assists in what proved to be a free-flowing attacking display.
There were also tries for wing Sanford Brown (2012), making his long-awaited return after a serious collarbone injury eight years ago, hooker Tim Baker (2014) and captain Ross Hobbs who once again led by example from loosehead prop.
While scoring six tries certainly pleased coach Blackburn, it was the Tiffs' defence which really stood out on the night and was only let down by a couple of soft late tries at the death.
Speaking after the game, Blackburn added: "It was nice prep tonight but the real tester comes next week in our first Regional 2 game but we will be coming in with some momentum."
The Hobbs and Blackburn axis now lead Tiffs into their inaugural Level Six fixture against Medway at home on Saturday 7 September to get the centenary campaign up and running.
We hope to see you there!
