Saturday 23rd October 2021
On a clear day in October, the Old Williamsonians made it 5 wins from 5 with a win away from home against Foots Cray.
The old boys took an early lead through a quickly taken line out by Sam Green resulting in Callum Bowie scoring the first try of the game.
Foots Cray got points on the board with a penalty after poor discipline from the Old Williamsonians.
2 further tries in the first half came from Tom Collins and Chris Foot giving The Willies a 19-3 first half lead.
The tone was set for the second half with the renewed intensity from the Old Williamsonian defence. Sam Green crossed over in the corner for his second try in 2 weeks.
A smart chip and chase from Chris Foot for his second of the day increased the lead for the Willies.
Foots Cray came back with a score of their own, winning a penalty they kicked to the corner. The resulting line out ended with a rolling maul going over the line.
The last try of the day went to the Old Williamsonians as Adam Page put in some neat foot work to finish in the corner.
After 5 wins from 5, 4 with bonus points The Willies are behind Park House by only points difference. We welcome Park House next Saturday 30th October in a top of the table clash.
