This was a tough match between two evenly matched team and it was Slough Heating Reserves who came out on top of this wind affected contest, winning 2-1 to go through the Ascot and Fielden semi final.
With the wind behind Old Windsor we started strongly and with chances coming and going it was starting to feel as one of those days. Brad had two good chances in the first 10 minutes, then Calvin pulled his shot wide, Brad again poked wide after some good team play, we eventually tested the keeper when Calven headed well in the 35th minute. We did score on the 44th minute after Calvin received the ball from Walts and then finished well from 20 yards. It was the least we deserved at half time.
In the second half with the wind behind them Slough looked much more threatening and in the 50th minute had a great chance that appeared to hit the post and come out, Slough were convinced it crossed the line but no goal was given by the referee. They did score on 58 minutes after some poor defensive play saw the Slough player hit a worldie from 25 yards, giving Harry no chance. The game was end to end with Slough playing the better and it was them that scored the winner after 75 minutes with a great finish after a poor header from Loz. We rallied and the best chance we had was when the keeper saved from Walts.
A disappointing result from an Old Windsor perspective and that just leaves us in two cups as well as 4 league games left this season.
