This was an important game for Old Windsor, after a couple of disappointing League results could we respond in a cup 1/4 final against opposition from the Thames Valley Premier. The game started quite evenly with Wraysbury having the better of the early exchanges without creating much. Wraysbury took the lead after a long ball fell for the striker who finished well. From that point on Old Windsor stepped up and upped their level and started to press and put pressure the Wraysbury defence. We drew level when Tom flicked home a long throw from Rory. No more than we deserved 1-1 at half time and all to play for.
Second half did not start well and Wraysbury took the lead for a second time. Once again we responded and on 55 minutes Lukes corner was nodded home by a grateful Joe. within two minutes Rory was put through, rounded the keeper and rolled the ball into the empty net. From then on the game ebbed and flowed and with the defence marshalled by Tom we never looked likely to lose.
On we go to the Semi-final, probably against Chalvey, another good test.
