our first ever game in the Wycombe Cup saw us taking on our old rivals Singh Sabha. The game started well with some bright play going forward and as with all season plenty of attacking threats all over the pitch. A succession of corners looked dangerous but nothing came of them. Sabha's first chance was a long range effort, well tipped over by Dan. Then on 15 minutes Harry nets after some good from Lucus and Lious let him with the simple task of tapping in. Sabha responded well and were level on 22 when a through to Lucas put him under pressure, he slipped and Sabha broke and fished well from 20 yards. 2 minutes later a long throw into the box was headed away only for it to fall to Sabha player who for the second time in the match finished well. There was a reaction from Old Windsor but the only meaningful effort was an effort over the bar from Lucas. Then just on half time Sabha increased their lead when George slipped and Sabha broke and the lad completed his hatrick with another good finish.
The second half was even and saw some good chances for both teams, tempers were getting frayed and it turned into a bitty game, Sabha completed the scoring on 82 minutes with Brad getting sent off in the dying minutes it was a day to forget for Old Windsor.
Man of the Match was Jame Walton (Walts) who defended for his life and never gave up.
A disappointing result but one that will spur the team on for future weeks.
