Match report

For the second time this season Old Windsor took on Iver Heath Rovers to try and inflict a double on their opponents for the first time in a few years. The match started well when we took the lead on 5 minutes, Heath conceded a free kick on 5 minutes, Harry stepped up and like all good strikers hit the target forcing the keeper to make a save and there was Jake on hand to finish smartly. The next chance game on 12 minutes when Heath had their first chance with a long range effort that sailed over the bar. This was a tight game on a tight pitch but the pace of Old Windsor was proving decisive . Being a small pitch long throws were a good weapon and the best chance was when one fell to Louis Maggs who shot wide. Chances continued in the first half with Jake, Harry and Walts all having decent chances. The second goal did come when Harry nicked the ball off of Heath and drove forward, he played in Luke who went round the keeper and Harry tapped in after continuing his run. Iver then had their best 5 minutes of the half, firing a free kick over and then when shorty could not collect the ball it looked as know Heath was going to score but Dan made a good save.

2-0 at half time and whilst we had played well Iver Heath was still in the game. The second half started as the first finished, very tight with both teams looking to go forward on 49 Harry was through one on one but the keeper saved well. Heath did score on 71 with a great strike from 30 yards that gave Dan little chance. With the pressure on Old Windsor responded well and eased the fears when Jake made it 3-1, he won the ball high up, played a one two with Harry and then curled the finish into the far corner.

3-1 and a great result that ensures that we maintained our 100% record in the league, the defence was superb in this match when they could never switch off. Man of the Match was Scouse, much to Jake's disbelieve :-)
