After being postponed the previous week the match eventually tool place in our last game of the year, for some reason we played on the small pitch as Taplow believed they could make it more of a battle. But as we have showed all season we can battle it out and even if we don't play well can grind out a result. Old Windsor scored on 5 minutes when Dale headed in a free kick but Taplow's assistant decided he was off side, although not all was so convinced. The first half saw Old Windsor dominate and the chances game and went, with Joe, Brad , Luke and Dale all having good chances. Taplow came in the half and their best chance came on 31 minutes when a cross eluded Lex and the header was headed back across the goal only for Dale to clear off the line.
0-0 at half time and at the start of the second half it was an even match, Taplow had a good chance but was put wide, then the decisive moment of the match, Luke was put through and went round the keeper on to be scythed down by the keeper. The referee harshly sent the keeper off and awarded Old Windsor a penalty, Harry stepped up and made it 1-0. The game got scrappy and Brad was luck not to be sent off for his reaction. Taplow had lots of procession with the wind behind them but never really tested Dan in our goal. On the break we looked dangerous with lots more chances, the best going to Reesy who had so much time he out thought himself and put the chance wide. 1-0 the game finished and onto the 1/4 we march.
Man of the Match was Dale for his commanding performance at the back. That's it for 2019, only 1 defeat so far this season meant that Russ was a proud manager with the only concern being could we continue after a couple of weeks off.
