O.P.M. 3-0 PGSOB A

OPM first team were joined for a second week running by Ben Wilcox and Sean Oades who having spent most of the season playing for the 2nd XI made such an impact in the previous week against North Devon. In addition Liam Jonas joined the line up to face the PG A squad. OPMs started well creating a number of early chances and were far more structured in their attacks. The score at half time however was 0-0.

OPMs came out fighting again in the second half and the continued pressure finally lead to the first goal. After a number of neat passes the ball finally found its way to Aaron West who unselfishly slotted the ball to Sean Oades. Oades took the ball superbly around the oncoming keeper and reverse flicked it into the back of the net.

The game continued to ebb and flow for the next 10 mins as both sides continued to create chances. It was however Ben Wilcox who scored at the back post from a cross which had found its way through a gaggle of players to make it 2-0. At this point PG’s began to lose all momentum and they were punished one final time by Chris Frude who scored a half volley rebound from a short corner routine.

Special mention must go to the OPM defence who put in a solid performance by snubbing out most of PG’s attacks. Charlie Helyer was MoM for a number of excellent last ditch tackles and provided a laugh out loud moment when he showed us all his XXX face….. sorry I mean his angry face!

DoD went to Lewis Gunn-Colling who continued his season long tradition of stropping right out! PG’s infamous Scooby threatened to punch Mr Gunn-Colling who then obliged by offering his chin to said player and repeatedly shouting “come on then hit me” at the top of his voice until the umpire got fed up and sent young LGC off to calm down.
