Mitchell walks away with top award.

Saturday night at the Pavilion, to celebrate the end of the successful summer 2016 season. The biannual presentation night was held and was as the summer was successful and a fun night had by all.

The Pavilion was packed with players and supporters alike which fuelled the added night time fun, the host was coach Simon Hagger and the food was once again cooked and supplied by secretary Lynda Hargill.

The awards started off with Coach Hagger handing out some smaller trophies and thank you's,
Top Try Scorers was a joint affair with Ash Berry and Nick Mitchell sharing 7 tries a piece.
Awards and thank you's 3 awards for each of the joint vice captains Taz Winstanley and Nick Mitchell and also for club captain Josh Machin.
A big thank you award from Coach Hagger was to Josh Price who turns up every week to help out and is invaluable on a Saturday afternoon.

The big awards then was handed out starting off the proceedings was for,

Most Improved Player: Daniel Pickles, Danny was awarded this for the simple fact from where he come from to where he is now. Started as bit part player by going on the wing went to back row, and then to prop and elevated himself to a starting and invaluable starting prop who is ever dependable.
Danny also takes it upon himself to phone and text other players asking for advice or tips. He is always striving to improve and was a popular choice on the night.

Players Player: Nick Mitchell, This award is voted for by your peers and was won as a landslide with Vice capt Nick picking up over half the votes.

Player of the year: Wayne Hartley, The award is given to the player with the most points from the man of the match award. We ask for a 1,2,& 3 from opposing coaches and 1st gets 5, 2nd gets 3 and 3rd gets 1. this is a keenly contested race and all the players keep a close eye on the tally and it went down to the last 2 games with Nick and Wayne neck and neck all season. But scrum half Hartley took the tally with 3 points out of last 2 games. Was well deserved.

Clubman of The Year: Kevin Moore, This award is given to a member of the club who goes above and beyond the call of duty to help the club out. Kevin is a very popular member of the committee and does immeasurable things to help out. He always comes up to training and cleans out the changing rooms he comes to every game and helps out by picking up the kit and always has some banter with the lads after a game to cheer them up after a loss or a put down to keep them level headed if they win. Very deserved award.

Man of Steel: Nick Mitchell, The final award of the evening is the coaches player of the year and this summer season went to Nick Mitchell. The vice captain tackles 5 stone above his weight and he runs very good lines. He was probably top tackler in over half the games and would not just make passive tackles would make sure he put his full force into each tackle. Puts his heart and soul into every game and this was a just reward for a reliable player.

Well done to all the winners but more importantly well done to all the lads after a good strong season.
