Newby collects 3 awards

On a night for celebrations the Tigers ended the winter season off with a bang, The night was turned into a race night all funds raised would be going to injured Tiger Wayne Hartley who broke his Tibia the week before against Dewsbury Celtic.

The awards was all well received not one award was grumbled at which as a club was really proud of because it showed the bond we have within the group of players.

First award up was Top Try scorer which is exactly what it is Adam Newby galloped in for 23 tries was well deserved.

2nd Most Improved, This was given to Matthew West this was because start of year could only mange 5 minutes before being subbed and was quiet as anyone but as the season went on, he managed to improve his fitness and become a relied upon starter.

3rd Player of year, This award is collated from asking opposing coaches for a man of match 1st, 2nd & 3rd place and over year its added up and this went to Adam Newby.

4th award Players Player, We asked each player who they thought was their stand out player, was a close 3 horse race with Josh Machin and Nick Mitchell being in the final votes but in the end Adam Newby took the award.

5th award Man of Steel, This is the coaches player of year This went to a player who gives the team direction who is there to back up he players, Coach Hagger said they argue away from the players to make sure they get things right but in a good way, he leads the team onto the field and is well deserved for our captain Josh Machin.

4 bunches of flowers was handed out to our female helpers who are always there to aide the club Jane North who looks after our books and cooks food. Sue Williams for helping coach Hagger out on match days and with players registration., Every year a popular one for our number one fan who turns up to every game Louie and last one a secret one was to our lovely secretary who looks after the players first and foremost and keeps coach Hagger in check.

At the end of the awards James Winstanley our vice captain got up and said a few words about our coach and handed him a card with a voucher for his wife for putting up with him.
